VTU Engineering has evolved from an engineering firm into an international technology corporation with a solid market position.07.12.2018
Its largest business segment is the planning of process facilities, where VTU has established itself as a reliable partner in the general planning of large investments over the past few years.
In November, VTU managed to welcome another professional on board in the form of Thomas Viertel. This comes as part of the expansion of the Large Projects business unit. In the future, the VTU Group GmbH’s new Head of Life Sciences will be responsible for the strategic business development of the General planning/EPCM unit, with a focus on the life sciences industry. What’s more, he will also drive forward our internationalization.

Thomas Viertel has over 25 years of experience in top management and business development in the process industry. Most recently, he was employed at the M+W Group as Head Regional Business Unit Europe and Deputy CEO Global BU Life Sciences and Chemicals, among others. Before this, he was responsible for developing the M+W Group’s life sciences business in Asia, which he managed for more than 10 years. In these positions, Thomas Viertel was responsible for an annual turnover of several hundreds of millions of euros and was also in charge of managing investment projects. Having completed his academic studies in food/biotech engineering, as well as an MBA, Thomas Viertel also brings with him some well-founded technical expertise.
